The purpose of the Foundation is to promote discussion on the
liberalization of the economy and its consequences in the light
of the ideas and tradition of Anders Chydenius (1729-1803), to
support academic research into this topic and to influence decisions
in this field by laying emphasis on ethical values.
The main challenge during the upcoming years (2006 - 2010)
is to produce the 'Collected Works of Anders Chydenius' in
Swedish and in Finnish as well as 'Selected Works' in English.
To celebrate the 240th Anniversary of Freedom Press Act/Access
to Information Act (1766)in Sweden and Finland, Anders Chydenius
Foundation discusses Freedom of Information (FOI) in the European
Union in its various events in 2006.
