Finland ranks high in competitiveness index
 Finland was number two in the Global Competitiveness Report 2002 released by World Economic Forum. The winner was the US, thus replacing Finland as number one in the WEF index.
The US and Finland were followed by Taiwan, Singapore and Sweden. Last year Taiwan was number seven and Sweden number nine. Singapore was the fourth, as it was the previous year.
